I received my Vtube yesterday in the mail from Apollo E-Cigs. I charged up the battery and started using it last night.
Unfortunately I only have some 1.5ohm dual coil cartomizers at the moment so I was not able to play with the full range of voltage, but there is definitely a big difference from my Ego batteries. The throat hit was a bit intense on some of the draws but overall smooth and good.
Today I went to my local vendor to find out what ohm tanks they sell. I thought that perhaps I could try a higher ohm cartridge to be able to play with the voltages more. They do carry higher ohm cartomizers but they are all dual coil. I was really hoping for a single coil of some kind just to try them out since I have only used these dual coils up to now.
I ended up purchasing a 2.5ohm mega dual coil cartomizer. I have to report that I am very impressed thus far. I came home and filled it up with my current favorite juice, Desert Ship. It is a 60/40 mix and I have liked the tasted of it so far.
I am getting good vapor production and a good throat hit without it being too hot for my comfort level. The tasted really comes out much better than the other cartomizer on the Ego battery.
It's funny because I smoked my last real cigarette in my pack last night. I was going to see how it would go today without the real cigarettes and just use the Vtube all day. When I left to go over to the local vapor shop I decided I would see what they have and when I get paid tomorrow go back and purchase anything I felt would be good for my device. I had decided I would leave there and go buy one more pack of cigarettes with the last $6.00 I had on me.
However, after trying their cartomizer I decided to use my cigarette money and buy the cartomizer instead. Now I have no other choice than to continue vaping and not have any cigarettes. I hope it will just be one of those blessings in disguise and I can just kick the cigarettes to the curb.
I have been vaping on the Vtube now since 2:00pm and happily enjoying it. It may just be the day I say goodbye to the cigarettes forever!

My next step in vaping
Well, it happened. I mentioned in my last blog that I was looking at going to the next level in my vaping experience.
After talking back and forth with someone over at E-Cigarette-Forum I just ordered my first variable voltage vaping device.
Now, there are different types of these models and they range for lower in price and features to way higher in price and features. I opted for the mid-range level of that type of equipment. I ordered what is called a Vtube from Apollo E-Cigs. It is a version of what originally came out as a Lava Tube from a company called Volcano. I ordered their starter kit and an adapter so I can use the cartomizers that I currently have for my other starter kit that I bought.
I feel like I am ready to move up to something else and I want my wife to have her own kit so I am giving my current set up to her. She tried it out today and really liked it with some menthol flavored e-juice I bought this past Saturday.
So, now the wait begins. I hate waiting for things. It is the reason I decided to buy the other kit in the first place. I knew I could order something online cheaper, but, there ya' have it. However, this device is not available locally. They do sell the higher end variable voltage model called Provari, but it is like $179.00. I am not ready to put that kind of money into this thing.
It should arrive on Wednesday and I am very much looking forward to it's arrival. I am going to be ordering some more things to add to it on Friday, like a better cartomizer that is made for it and so on.
I will post my thoughts after I receive it and use it for a few days to test it out.

Nearing the end of my first week
Hello again. Here is my little update on my first week vaping.
It is going extremely well overall. I am disappointed that I have not fully quit smoking, but I am smoking less than half of what I used to with the help of this kit that I bought.
I finished my pack of cigarettes that I had with me last Saturday on Monday night. Now, I am a pack to a pack and a half a day smoker. To have my cigarettes last me that long is a big deal. To top it off, it was easy to do.
I decided on Monday night that it would be my last cigarette. I woke up Tuesday morning really craving that morning cigarette though. However, I pushed through it and vaped like a fiend. My wife came home for lunch and she still had some real cigarettes left. I had one of hers after lunch.
I again had one more after dinner and then one more before we went to bed. Three cigarettes the whole day. Not too bad, as I mentioned above what I would have normally smoked in that time period.
However, on Wednesday I cracked. I went out and bought a pack of cigarettes that morning. I noticed the morning seems to be my weakest time for some reason. I am going to have to just increase my vaping at that time period to overcome it.
Today is Friday and I still have most of my pack of cigarettes left. This is a good sign despite the fact that I have completely quit them. I am happy about that. I figure I will continue this way until I just quit them entirely. For now, I will enjoy the benefit of smoking less.
I have been reading about another step up in vaping devices that I am going to consider possibly buying. This one I am going to have to order and wait for, but at least I have the kit that is working well for me still. Not like my past experiences. It basically, from what I understand, can give you more options for power behind the vaping experience and longer battery life. Battery life is very important to me because although I work from home, I do have to go out on the road on occasion and I do not want to be caught short due to a failing battery. That was another problem I had with the earlier Blu kit, the battery life.
My current kit's battery will last me a good 4 hours of heavy vaping and I have the second battery to change it out with. So that works well for now. Plus, this one has a USB pass through set up so I can connect it up to the computer as well.
Well, I will be back on here in a few days to continue this adventure!

Finally, the day has come!
After much waiting and anticipation this past week, it is finally here. Today I will purchase a starter kit of the mid level vaping variety.
Up until now I have tried the Blu disposable brand, the Blu starter kit and some kit long ago forgotten. They did not quite do it for me. They had promise and definitely kept me interested in this venture. However, my goal is to quit smoking real cigarettes and somehow be able to do it that is not so hard. I find it very difficult to quit smoking.
So, after several years, a new store opens up near me that sells vaping equipment. It is only 3 miles from my home and I would not have to order things online and wait for them to arrive. I am very impatient like that.
So, I went and checked this new store out last Tuesday. They let me try their variety of juice flavors on their equipment. I puffed away to my heart's content trying every flavor that looked interesting to me. I was in the frame of mind, like most, that I wanted something that tasted like a cigarette. I somehow already knew that was not really going to be how it was. Vaping is totally different than smoking from that standpoint.
I found myself enjoying this watermelon flavor. I never thought I would like something like that. Like I said above, always searching for that real cigarette taste. The hit to the back of my throat was excellent and the vapor this thing produced was awesome. Unfortunately, it was 4 days from payday and I did not have enough money to purchase their kit that day. However, I knew this felt right and I knew I was going to come back and get it.
I left there feeling I had found the answer to my problem. How do I quit smoking and do it in a way that is not so painful. I was shocked that up to an hour after leaving that store, I had no desire for a cigarette. Hooray!
So, very impatiently waiting all week to get paid, I searched the internet high and low for every piece of information that I could find out about vaping. Geez, there is a LOT of information about this subject and a LOT of different varieties of equipment. I literally spent 4 hours every day learning about this new subject.
I learned that the starter kit I was going to purchase was a little bit more expensive than what I could get online, but subtracting shipping and waiting time, it was worth it to me to spend the extra money.
Purchase time: 12:01pm I am at their door as they had just opened for the day at noon. The guy at the counter went over everything with me and I left at 12:45pm with my first kit and two bottles of e-juice.
I went home and charged the batteries. My wife and I were leaving for a short two day trip to the northern part of Florida at 3:00pm so I had to make sure everything was set up and ready to go. I still had almost a full pack of regular cigarettes in my pocket so I was not worried if everything did not go according to plan.
So, it is now 5:00pm and I have not yet had a regular cigarette. I am sure I will have one at some point, but right now, the vaping is working fine for me. I have no real desire for a cigarette at the moment.
We will see how this continues, but I am thinking I am on the path to freedom from these oxygen sucking coffin nails.

If you are reading this you are probably in one of three categories:
I started this blog for that reason. I recently found vaping again and decided I wanted to talk about it and help get more information out across the web for people that are looking for answers.
